LINEAR ACTUATORS

LINEAR ACTUATOR DESIGN:

On offshore locations such as platforms, FPSO’s, Bouy’s and Turrets, Corrosion of exposed material is an enormous issue.
Traditional (well known) actuator suppliers often use the tiny designed tie-rodded actuator, an example of a tie-rodded designed actuator can be found here

The use of tie-rods avoids the actuator being coated properly on the most critical spots of the actuator, the area between the tie-rod and the cylinder (top/bottomplates) Higher chances of corrosion, which can result in tie-rod cracking.

Many customers have recognized this problem and change out the traditional actuators by actuators supplied without the use of tie-rods.

This is the reason why the NON TIE-RODDED Design has been introduced by DAC Technologies.

DAC Technologies has designed this new UNIQUE linear actuator and has brand labelled the actuator: ATLAS Actuation™.

“NON-TIE-RODDED DESIGN”

“DESIGNED FOR FREQUENT CYCLING”

“DESIGNED FOR LONG STAND STILL”

“When space is limited, equipment shall be designed as compact as possible”

Based on the company’s long experience with actuator supply and service performed through the years, many tie-rodded designed actuators were found in such terrible conditions that dangerous situations in the field occurred.

These situations have led to removal of actuators, refurbishment of actuators or even (partial) plant shutdowns.

Now, we experience more and more changout of the traditional Tie-Rodded actuators by the NON TIE Rodded design actuators.
